Who Attends?

The American Historical Association (AHA) is the largest professional organization in the United States devoted to the study and promotion of history and historical thinking. Only the AHA brings together historians from all specializations and professions, embracing their breadth, variety, and ever-changing activity. The AHA has more than 11,000 members and 125 affiliate organizations, many of whom hold sessions as part of the AHA annual meeting. 3,000 historians attended our 2023 meeting in Philadelphia. The Exhibit Hall regularly includes over 70 exhibitors.

What attendees are saying…

  • The exhibit hall is always my focus; it seemed well organized and productive this year.

  • Lots of great conversations in the Exhibit hall!

  • The Exhibit Hall was a whirlwind of excitement that I had not previously experienced. I greatly enjoyed speaking with the publisher reps and gaining insight into new books along with making contacts for my own future prospects of publication.

  • The book exhibit is always a highlight for me, as it was this year as well. But the chance to see the latest scholarship in a variety of subfields in one conference is wonderful.
